Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and supporting the optometric practice by performing various clinical tasks. You will work closely with patients to ensure a smooth and efficient experience while assisting the optometrist in delivering high-quality eye care. Duties Conduct patient intake, including gathering medical history and performing preliminary vision tests. Measure and record vital signs as needed. Assist in maintaining an aseptic environment during examinations and procedures. Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in patient assessments. Manage medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Operate electronic medical record (EMR) systems for accurate documentation. Collaborate with the optometrist during examinations, providing necessary assistance based on clinical needs. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment. Skills 2+ years experience required. Strong background in patient care with an emphasis on customer service. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Experience in medical office settings, preferably within ophthalmology or optometry. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to eye care. Proficiency in EMR systems, is highly desirable. Experience working with pediatric patients is beneficial but not required. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
