Job Description

Overview Patient centered Optometric practice seeking an Optical staff member. This position requires mixed capabilities. The applicant must be very detail oriented, but at the same time will need to have a flair for style and fashion. This position will require in depth knowledge of frames and various lens products. This is vital to properly serve the patient's needs. No weekends. Each day starting at 8:20. Monday until 7:00, Wed. -Thurs. until 5:00 Friday until 2:00 Generous benefit package that includes: 7 Paid Holidays, Paid Vacation, SIMPLE IRA Retirement Plan and Family Vision Benefits. Health Insurance is NOT available. This is a full time position. Pay range is $16.00 to $24.00/hour based on relevant work experience. Please forward resume. It is vital that applicant lives no further than 25 miles, maximum, from Lincolnton. Responsibilities Manage patient prescriptions, including performing eyewear fittings, adjustments, and repairs to ensure optimal comfort and vision correction. This requires the ability to take very precise measurements. Provide exceptional patient service by explaining eyewear options and assisting with frame selection based on individual needs and preferences. Operate POS systems for transactions involving eyewear sales, insurance processing and medical coding to ensure accurate billing. Control inventory management of frames and optical supplies. This includes regular meetings with frame reps. Must be able to operate a manual lensometer to confirm patient orders returning from the lab. Also use the lensometer to read the current prescription of new patients. Experience Prior Optical experience is highly desirable. Analytical skills are necessary for measurements, prescriptions calculations and financial transactions involving retail transactions or insurance claims.
