Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our busy and patient-focused ophthalmology practice. Position Summary The Ophthalmic Technician plays a vital role in providing quality patient care by assisting our physicians with comprehensive eye examinations, diagnostic testing, patient education, and clinical procedures. The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, and committed to creating an outstanding patient experience. Some travel to our other office location required on an as needed basis. Responsibilities Prepare patients for examination by obtaining medical and ocular histories. Perform preliminary vision testing, including visual acuity, refraction, and intraocular pressure measurements.
Conduct diagnostic testing such as:
OCT Visual Fields Fundus Photography Corneal Topography Pachymetry A-Scan Assist physicians during examinations and minor in-office procedures. Administer ophthalmic medications as directed. Educate patients regarding medications, treatments, and postoperative care. Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR). Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and clinical supplies. Ensure a positive, welcoming experience for every patient. Qualifications Previous ophthalmic experience preferred. Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification is a plus but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Basic computer and EMR proficiency.
