Eye Physicians & Surgeons Ltd. is seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Technician. Our practice is growing and we need Ophthalmic Technicians to join while we continue to expand . This is an excellent opportunity for the experienced technician who is looking for a fast-paced environment. Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or Certified Ophthalmic Technician is preferred. Signing bonus for COA or COT. We have two office locations at 7000 Stonewood Drive, Wexford, PA and 200 Delafield Road, Pittsburgh, PA.
Primary office will be the Wexford location with occasional travel to the Pittsburgh location .
IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THE MEDICAL FIELD AS A MEDICAL ASSISTANT, WILLING TO TRAIN THE RIGHT CANDIDATE
Responsibilities:
History taking to include ocular, medical, medication, and social/family history. Perform a variety of diagnostic tests to the eyes to aide in the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease and disorders of vision. Experience with Electronic Medical Records, HIPAA compliance and computer skills are required. Knowledge of various equipment used to perform assessments: Auto refraction lensometry, ICare tonometry, amsler grid, color plates, and stereo acuity. Goldmann applanation is recommended but not required.
Visual Acuity Assessment:
distance, near, intermediate, pinhole, glare testing. With and without correction. Angle Assessment to ensure dilation is appropriate Pupillary assessment: measurement, documentation of any abnormalities, and APD detection Motility assessment, and confrontational fields Experience with performing the following tests: OCTs, fundus photos, Pachymetry, IOL Master, Topography, and Visual Fields. Experience with prescription refills, prior authorizations, and calling insurance companies to assist our patients in getting their medications in a timely manner. Experience with triaging phone calls to ensure emergent and non emergent patients are being seen appropriately. Experience with scribing for ophthalmologists and optometrists is preferred but not required.

From $19.50 per hour
