Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional patient care and support within our ophthalmology practice. Travel around the Tri-Cities area is required . This is an entry level position with potential for growth for competent, hard-working individuals.

Travel Schedule:

Roughly 3-4 days: Kingsport and Johnson City Roughly 1-2 Days (Out of town clinics): Abingdon, VA and Bristol, VA - •Mileage reimbursement and drive time provided• Responsibilities Perform preliminary tests such as measuring visual acuity, taking vital signs, and conducting basic eye exams. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure confidentiality of patient information. Educate patients on eye health, treatment options, and post-operative care instructions. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the examination rooms and waiting areas. Qualifications Knowledge of anatomy related to the eye and vision is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality. Reliable transportation and ability to commute/travel to all locations. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and customer service.
