  • Full-time Job Overview Our growing optometry clinic is looking for an agile and detail-oriented Optometric Technician for an immediate opening.
In this vital role, you will assist optometrists in the delivery of quality eye care by managing patient flow, operating specialized ophthalmic diagnostic equipment, documenting examination results, educating patients, and providing clinical support. Duties Prepare patients for eye examinations by reviewing medical histories and conducting intake assessments, ensuring all medical records are up-to-date Conduct preliminary testing including eye pressure, acuity, and refractive measurements to support accurate diagnosis Perform diagnostic imaging and administer visual field testing to screen for and monitor ocular diseases Provide direct patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and supporting patients through their appointments with professionalism and empathy Monitor patient schedule and communicate with doctors and staff to keep appointments running on time Maintain a clean and hygienic environment by sanitizing equipment between exams Protect patients' rights by maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies Requirements Prior experience in a healthcare setting is highly preferred, but specific experience in eye care is not required Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with flexibility, excellent time management, and attention to detail Excellent patient service skills with a focus on direct patient care, communication, and empathy across diverse populations including pediatrics Ability to learn and comply with HIPAA regulations, patient confidentiality standards, and clinical confidentiality policies Proficiency with EHR (electronic health record) systems is a plus, but experience with other systems of records may also be considered Retail experience or familiarity with optical sales is a plus; strong organizational skills for managing medical records and clinic operations are essential Bilingual English/Spanish is helpful but not required Join us to be part of a passionate team dedicated to providing outstanding eye care!
