Job Description

About us Bellingham Eye Physicians has been providing high quality medical and surgical eye care to the Bellingham area since 1972. We offer comprehensive eye care services including routine exams, screening for diseases of the retina, glaucoma treatment, diagnosis and surgical removal of cataracts, premium lens implants, treatment for dry eye, orbital surgery, oculoplastics, reconstructive surgery and neuro-ophthalmology. We are growing and would like to add an enthusiastic, motivated technician to our team.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist physicians in performing eye exams and diagnostic tests
  • Take patient medical history and record vital signs
  • Perform preliminary tests such as visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception
  • Administer eye drops and other medications as directed by the doctor
  • Educate patients on proper contact lens insertion, removal, and care
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and equipment
  • Perform some ancillary tests such as OCT, visual field, and fundus photography
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as an optometric/ophthalmic technician preferred
  • Refraction skill preferred
  • Familiarity with medical billing and coding practices
  • Proficient in taking accurate patient medical history and recording ocular vital signs
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and colleagues
  • Knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology, and eye conditions
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment We offer competitive compensation based on experience.
