Duties Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify appointments, and manage check-in/check-out procedures using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Epic. Schedule appointments for ophthalmology consultations, laboratory tests, and optical services while coordinating with clinical staff to optimize patient flow. Manage patient communications efficiently via phone and email, providing information on clinic services, insurance requirements including HIPAA compliance, and appointment reminders. Handle billing and coding processes related to medical records, medical billing, and insurance claims to ensure accurate reimbursement. Assist with inventory Assist with lens verification Assist with fitting patients in frames and lenses Qualifications Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and laboratory procedures relevant to eye care. Demonstrated ability to manage medical records accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Experience in retail sales or retail management can be beneficial for understanding customer service dynamics. Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment. Knowledge of vital signs measurement, medical coding, and basic clinical procedures such as aseptic technique is preferred.
