Park Avenue Optometry is looking for an experienced, bilingual Optician to join our team. We're looking for someone who knows optical—not just frame styling, but the entire process. You should be comfortable working with vision plans, calculating patient copays and out-of-pocket costs, recommending lens options, taking accurate measurements, placing orders, troubleshooting problems, and delivering a great experience from beginning to end. We're looking for someone who shares that philosophy and wants to become an important part of our team. What You'll Do As an Optician, you'll help guide patients through the entire eyewear experience, including: Helping patients select frames that complement their prescription, lifestyle, fit, and personal style Educating patients on lens options, materials, coatings, and upgrades Taking accurate PDs, segment heights, and other optical measurements Adjusting, fitting, repairing, troubleshooting, and dispensing eyewear Reviewing and verifying completed eyewear for quality and accuracy Placing and tracking frame, lens, and contact lens orders Following through on delayed or problem orders until they are resolved Reviewing and explaining vision plan benefits Calculating copays, allowances, upgrades, and patient out-of-pocket costs Processing vision plan authorizations, claims, and billing Clearly explaining costs and benefits to patients Maintaining accurate documentation and order information Working closely with our doctors, technicians, front desk, and optical team to keep the office running smoothly Most importantly, you'll help make sure every patient leaves feeling that they were listened to, taken care of, and confident in their eyewear. Who We're Looking For This position is best suited for someone who already has a solid optical foundation and is comfortable working independently. Prior optical experience is required.

Experienced in optical dispensing, measurements, adjustments, and troubleshooting Familiar with vision care plans, eligibility, authorizations, copay calculations, allowances, and billing Comfortable discussing lens options and making appropriate recommendations Bilingual in English and Spanish Friendly, confident, and comfortable communicating with patients Detail-oriented and accurate, especially when handling prescriptions, measurements, insurance benefits, and payments Organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a busy practice Dependable and willing to take ownership of their responsibilities A team player who communicates well and is willing to step in when needed Positive and professional while still able to enjoy working with the people around them We value people who take their work seriously, take pride in doing things correctly, and still know how to have a good day with their coworkers.
