We are an established independent optometry practice seeking an experienced, personable, and dependable Optician to join our team. Our practice focuses on high-quality eye care, premium eyewear, and excellent patient service. We are looking for someone with strong optical knowledge who enjoys helping patients select eyewear and understands how to recommend lens and frame options based on each patient's needs. Compensation $26.50-$32.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications Benefits Eligible full-time employees may receive: Paid time off Paid holidays Employee discounts on eyewear and services Performance bonus opportunities Professional development and continuing education opportunities Opportunities for increased responsibility as the practice grows Responsibilities Assist patients with frame selection and styling Explain and recommend lens materials, coatings, designs, and other optical options Take accurate optical measurements Dispense, adjust, troubleshoot, and verify eyewear Perform frame adjustments and minor repairs Review and understand vision insurance benefits Work with VSP, EyeMed, and other vision plans Assist with contact lens education when needed Maintain an organized and attractive optical department Assist with frame and optical inventory Communicate professionally with patients in person and by phone Work collaboratively with doctors, opticians, and front-office team members Help provide an excellent patient experience throughout the visit Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of optician experience strongly preferred Experience in an independent, boutique, or premium optical environment is a plus Strong knowledge of frames, lenses, and optical measurements Experience dispensing and adjusting eyewear Familiarity with VSP, EyeMed, and other vision insurance plans Comfortable using EHR/practice-management systems and general computer applications Strong communication and customer-service skills Organized, dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented Comfortable working in a busy patient-care environment Able to confidently recommend appropriate eyewear and lens options Team-oriented and willing to assist with other office responsibilities when needed Who Will Do Well in This Position We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working with patients, and combines technical optical knowledge with excellent customer service. The right candidate is dependable, professional, organized, and comfortable explaining premium eyewear options without using high-pressure sales tactics.
