Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optician, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional eye care and eyewear services. As an integral part of our optical practice, you will assist patients in selecting the perfect eyewear, ensure accurate lens fitting, and uphold the highest standards of clinical confidentiality and patient care. Your expertise in optics, medical terminology, and retail sales will help us provide a seamless experience that combines medical precision with outstanding customer service. Responsibilities Assist patients with eyewear fittings, adjustments, and frame selections to ensure optimal comfort and style. Dispense lenses accurately, following prescriptions and utilizing optical laboratory experience. Operate EMR/EHR (Electronic Medical Records/Electronic Health Records) systems efficiently for billing and record keeping. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, health regulation policies, and clinical confidentiality policies while managing sensitive medical records. Support laboratory tasks including frame repairs, and aseptic technique to uphold quality standards. Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries, explaining medical terminology clearly, and ensuring a positive experience. Collaborate with optometrists and healthcare professionals to support retail optometry services and clinic operations. Keep up-to-date with state healthcare regulations and medical coding practices relevant to optical care. Perform eyewear frame adjustments and optical laboratory work with precision to meet patient needs. Experience Prior retail sales experience within an optical or optometry setting is highly preferred. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Revolution or similar platforms is preferred. Familiarity with medical billing, coding procedures, and health regulation policies enhances your effectiveness in this role. Strong customer service skills combined with basic math proficiency are necessary for accurate dispensing and transactions.
Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
