Optician/Optical Sales Associate

Job Description

Kearney Eye Institute is looking for a friendly, motivated, and customer-focused individual to join our Optical Department. Whether you have experience in optical or retail sales, or you're looking for a new career where you can make a difference in patients' lives, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Do As an Optical Sales Associate, you'll help patients see and look their best by providing exceptional service throughout their eyewear experience.
Responsibilities include:
Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that fit their lifestyle, prescription, and personal style. Take accurate measurements to ensure proper fit and vision. Explain lens options, coatings, and eyewear features. Verify vision insurance benefits and submit claims for processing. Prepare and submit eyewear orders to the optical laboratory. Inspect completed eyewear for accuracy and quality. Adjust, repair, and fit eyeglasses for patient comfort. Provide outstanding customer service while creating a positive patient experience. Work closely with doctors and fellow team members in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous optical or retail sales experience is preferred but not required. ABO Certification (ABOC) and/or NCLE certification is preferred but not required. Certification may be obtained after hire. Strong communication and customer service skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to occasionally lift and move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
