In this vital role, you will manage the billing and checkout process for optometry services, ensuring accurate coding, timely claims submission, and seamless patient interactions. Your expertise will help optimize revenue cycle management while providing exceptional customer service to our patients. Responsibilities Prepare and submit healthcare claims through billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems, following all regulatory guidelines. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, perform collections on outstanding balances, and communicate effectively with insurance companies and patients regarding payment issues. Assist patients with billing inquiries, explain insurance benefits, and provide excellent customer service during checkout processes. Maintain meticulous records of all transactions, claims submissions, payments, and adjustments for audit readiness. Qualifications Proven experience in medical billing within a healthcare setting, preferably in optometry or ophthalmology practices. Strong knowledge of healthcare claims management, health insurance policies, and medical coding including

DRG, CPT

coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems. Familiarity with billing software applications and EMR/EHR systems used in medical offices. Excellent understanding of medical terminology and medical records management. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients and insurance providers. Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Cash handling and customer service knowledge and experience a must.
