"Optometrist Job summary We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Optometrist to provide high-quality vision care to our patients. This role is responsible for performing comprehensive eye exams, diagnosing and managing eye conditions, prescribing corrective lenses, and educating patients on ongoing eye health. The ideal candidate combines strong clinical judgment with excellent patient care and communication skills. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to evaluate visual acuity and overall eye health Diagnose and manage ocular conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration Prescribe and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses based on patient needs Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye procedures Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, and preventive care Maintain accurate and timely patient records in electronic medical systems Collaborate with ophthalmologists, opticians, and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated patient care Deliver an excellent patient experience through professional, compassionate service Provide care for a diverse patient population, including pediatric and senior patients Support additional clinical duties as needed Preferred qualifications and skills Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution Active optometry license in the applicable state Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy, optometry practices, and eye disease management Experience performing routine and medical eye exams Familiarity with electronic health records and medical documentation Strong communication and patient education skills Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical setting Experience providing care for senior patients Knowledge of medical terminology and coding preferred Sales experience related to eyewear recommendations is a plus
