Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Licensed Optometrist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of ophthalmic care, patient diagnosis, and treatment procedures, with a passion for delivering exceptional eye care services. As a Licensed Optometrist, you will conduct thorough eye examinations, diagnose various ocular conditions, and develop personalized treatment plans to improve and maintain patients' visual health. Responsibilities Perform detailed ophthalmic examinations, including visual acuity testing, tonometry, and assessment of ocular health using ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment. Diagnose eye conditions such as refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and other disease states utilizing medical terminology and ophthalmic diagnosis techniques. Fit contact lenses and prescribe corrective lenses based on individual patient needs while ensuring optimal comfort and vision correction. Operate medical equipment safely and effectively, adhering to aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Manage patient care by developing treatment plans, providing medical treatment when necessary, and educating patients on eye health maintenance. Document all medical records accurately within EMR/EHR systems, ensuring compliance with healthcare diagnosis standards and medical coding practices. Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals during consultations to ensure comprehensive patient care. Communicate clearly with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care while maintaining excellent customer service standards. Skills Extensive knowledge of ophthalmology principles, physiology, anatomy, and disease management related to eye health. Proficiency in using ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment, tonometry devices, and other ophthalmic medical tools. Strong understanding of medical terminology, healthcare diagnosis procedures, and medical treatment protocols. Experience with EMR/EHR systems for accurate record keeping and documentation of patient visits. Ability to perform ophthalmic patient examinations efficiently while maintaining high standards of aseptic technique. Skilled in contact lens fitting, disease state management, and ophthalmic consultations tailored to diverse patient needs. Excellent client communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient care; adept at explaining complex information clearly. Knowledge of medical coding practices relevant to optometry services; familiar with HIPAA compliance requirements for safeguarding patient information.
