Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optometrist, where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive eye care and enhancing patients' vision health. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your expertise in ophthalmology, medical diagnosis, and patient care within a collaborative and innovative environment. You will be responsible for conducting detailed eye examinations, diagnosing eye conditions, and providing tailored treatment plans to improve and maintain optimal visual health. Duties Perform thorough ophthalmic patient examinations, including visual acuity testing, tonometry, and assessment of ocular health using ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment. Diagnose eye diseases and conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and refractive errors through detailed ophthalmic diagnosis procedures. Conduct contact lens fittings and provide guidance on lens care, ensuring comfort and proper vision correction for patients. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to document patient histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and follow-up care accurately. Educate patients on eye health, disease prevention, and treatment options while maintaining excellent client communication and customer service standards. Operate medical equipment safely and effectively, including tonometers, ophthalmic diagnostic imaging devices, and other ophthalmic diagnostic tools. Manage disease state progression through ongoing patient monitoring, medication management, and referrals to specialists when necessary. Requirements Valid licensure as an Optometrist with current certification to practice in the designated region or country. Proven experience in ophthalmology or optometry with a strong understanding of ocular physiology and anatomy. Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye health and healthcare diagnosis procedures. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate record keeping and documentation. Hands-on experience with ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment such as tonometers and other ophthalmic diagnostic tools. Ability to perform comprehensive ophthalmic patient examinations with attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent client communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient care. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security are maintained at all times. Skills in disease management, medical treatment planning, contact lens fitting, and medical coding are highly desirable.
