In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, and deliver exceptional patient care. Your expertise will help improve vision health and enhance the quality of life for our diverse patient population. The ideal candidate is passionate about eye health, possesses strong clinical skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Responsibilities Conduct thorough eye examinations utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to assess visual acuity, ocular health, and overall eye function. Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye conditions, including refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and ocular infections. Prescribe corrective lenses and recommend appropriate treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and proper use of prescribed eyewear or medications. Collaborate with ophthalmology specialists when specialized procedures or advanced treatments are required. Stay current with advancements in ophthalmology and optometry practices through ongoing professional development. Skills Strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health. Proven experience with optical equipment and understanding of optical dispensing processes. Ability to perform pediatric eye exams with patience and precision. Excellent patient care skills with a focus on customer service and effective communication. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of medical records and vital signs. Knowledge of medical coding procedures relevant to optometry services for billing purposes. Understanding of aseptic techniques necessary for maintaining a sterile clinical environment. Ability to interpret vital signs and assess overall patient health as part of comprehensive eye evaluations.
