About Our Practice Shipp & Wooten Eye Center is a thriving, patient-centric ophthalmology practice led by two board-certified ophthalmologists. We specialize in providing high-quality surgical and comprehensive eye care to the Northeast Mississippi and Southwest Tennessee communities. Our state-of-the-art clinic features advanced diagnostic technology, a collaborative team environment, and a steady, diverse patient volume. Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and passionate full-time or part-time Optometrist (OD) to join our integrated medical team. In this role, you will work closely alongside our two ophthalmologists, managing comprehensive eye care, medical eye conditions, and specialized patient tracking. This is an exceptional opportunity for an OD who thrives in a medical, collaborative environment and wants to practice at the top of their license.
Key Responsibilities Comprehensive Eye Care :
Perform high-quality vision examinations and prescribe corrective lenses.
Medical Management :
Diagnose and manage ocular diseases like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
Co-Management :
Provide critical pre-operative and post-operative care for cataract and refractive surgery patients.
Urgent Care :
Handle walk-in emergency triage including foreign body removals and acute infections.
Collaboration :
Refer complex surgical cases directly to our on-site ophthalmologists.
Qualifications & Skills Degree :
Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited school of optometry.
Licensure :
Active, unrestricted optometry license in the state of Mississippi.
Certifications :
Board certified or eligible with therapeutic pharmaceutical agent (TPA) certification.
Experience :
Open to both experienced practitioners and motivated new graduates.
