In this role, you will provide comprehensive eye care services, including eye examinations, diagnosis of ocular conditions, and management of eye health. Your expertise will help improve patients' vision and overall well-being through personalized care, utilizing advanced ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and maintaining accurate medical records. Responsibilities Conduct thorough ophthalmic patient examinations, including visual acuity testing, tonometry, and assessment of ocular health using ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment. Diagnose and manage various eye conditions and diseases, applying your knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and ophthalmology best practices. Perform contact lens fittings and provide guidance on lens selection, care, and replacement schedules. Operate medical equipment safely and effectively, ensuring proper aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Document all patient interactions accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Communicate clearly with patients about their eye health, treatment options, and preventive care strategies to enhance their understanding and satisfaction. Collaborate with healthcare teams for comprehensive disease state management and ophthalmic consultations as needed. Stay updated on medical terminology, ophthalmic diagnosis procedures, and emerging technologies to deliver cutting-edge care. Qualifications Valid licensure as an Optometrist with relevant state or regional regulatory bodies. Proven experience in ophthalmology or optometry practice, including optical experience and pediatric patient care. Strong knowledge of medical treatment protocols related to eye health, disease management, and physiology. Proficiency in operating ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment, tonometry devices, and other medical tools essential for eye examinations. Experience with EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation and record keeping. Familiarity with medical coding practices relevant to optometry services for billing purposes. Excellent client communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient care.
