Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optometrist, where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive eye care and vision services to diverse patient populations. You will be responsible for conducting thorough eye examinations, managing disease states, fitting contact lenses, and utilizing advanced ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment to ensure optimal visual health. Duties Perform detailed ophthalmic patient examinations, including assessment of visual acuity, intraocular pressure (tonometry), and vital signs to diagnose eye conditions accurately. Utilize ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment to identify and monitor eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and retinal disorders. Conduct ophthalmic consultations to develop effective treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs, including medical treatment and disease management strategies. Fit contact lenses and provide guidance on proper usage, ensuring comfort and optimal vision correction for patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Operate medical equipment safely and effectively while maintaining aseptic techniques to prevent infections during examinations and procedures. Document all patient interactions, diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Communicate clearly with patients about their eye health, treatment options, and preventive care while providing excellent customer service and support. Assist with medical coding for billing purposes and ensure accurate record keeping of medical records in accordance with healthcare standards. Manage client relationships by providing education on eye health maintenance, disease prevention, and product recommendations such as contact lenses or optical devices. Experience Proven experience in ophthalmology or optometry with a strong understanding of ocular anatomy, physiology, and disease states. Hands-on optical experience with ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment and medical devices such as tonometers. Prior work with EMR/EHR systems for documentation, billing, and medical records management. Knowledge of healthcare diagnosis procedures, medical terminology, and optometric practices essential for accurate assessments. Experience fitting contact lenses across diverse patient demographics including pediatrics is highly desirable. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient privacy and data security.
