Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Associate Optometrist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive eye care services, including eye examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of various ocular conditions. Your expertise will help improve patients' vision and overall eye health while delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Independent optometry opportunity is also an option as one of our doctors has retired and we have an immediate opening. Duties Conduct thorough routine eye examinations, including visual acuity testing, tonometry, and assessment of ocular health using ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment. Diagnose and manage eye diseases and conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration, utilizing your expertise in ophthalmology and physiology knowledge. Perform contact lens fittings and provide patient education on lens care and proper usage. Communicate effectively with patients to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive eye care strategies while maintaining excellent customer service. Assist with sales of optical products when appropriate, providing product recommendations based on individual patient needs. Requirements Valid license or certification to practice as an optometrist or associate optometrist in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience in ophthalmology or optometry practice, with strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy related to the eye. Knowledge of disease state management, ocular physiology, and aseptic techniques for safe clinical procedures. Ability to perform ophthalmic consultations, vital signs assessments, and contact lens fittings accurately. Excellent client communication skills with a focus on delivering compassionate patient care and education. Familiarity with medical coding procedures for billing purposes; experience with HIPAA compliance is essential. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to operate medical equipment effectively in a fast-paced environment.
