Job Description

angela@mcdanielec.com Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care and will be responsible for diagnosing and managing various eye conditions. You will work closely with patients to ensure their vision needs are met while maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and diagnose eye diseases. Prescribe corrective lenses, including glasses and contact lenses, based on individual patient needs. Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on proper eye care and the use of prescribed optical devices. Collaborate with ophthalmologists for referrals, when necessary, particularly in complex cases. Perform routine tests such as measuring visual acuity, assessing ocular health, and checking vital signs. Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies. Provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive patient experience. Assist with sales of optical products, offering recommendations based on patient needs. Qualifications Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution. Valid state optometry license to practice. Knowledge of ophthalmology practices is preferred. Familiarity with medical records systems and HIPAA compliance is essential. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Experience in aseptic techniques is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Previous experience in sales within an optical setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
