Job Summary Leimkuehler Orthotic-Prosthetic Center is looking for a motivated Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO), Certified Prosthetist (CP), or recently certified clinician who wants to become an exceptional prosthetist and grow with our expanding practice. Prosthetics will be a major focus of this position. We are looking for someone who is hungry to learn, enjoys challenging cases, wants hands-on experience and is interested in developing advanced skills in both lower-extremity and upper-extremity prosthetics . Experience with upper-limb prosthetics is highly desirable, but we are willing to train the right person who has a genuine interest in becoming proficient in upper-extremity prosthetics. This is an excellent opportunity for a new or recently certified clinician who wants significant clinical exposure, direct mentorship from experienced prosthetists, hands-on fabrication knowledge and the opportunity to take on greater responsibility as our company continues to grow. Responsibilities Evaluate, design, fit and provide follow-up care for prosthetic patients Work with transtibial, transfemoral and more complex prosthetic cases Learn and/or provide upper-extremity prosthetic care , including body-powered, myoelectric and advanced upper-limb technologies Perform casting, measurements and digital scanning Perform diagnostic/test socket fittings and modifications Develop advanced skills in socket design, suspension, alignment and component selection Perform static and dynamic prosthetic alignment Troubleshoot fit, comfort, suspension, alignment and component issues Work with microprocessor and other advanced prosthetic technologies Provide orthotic patient care as needed Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation Communicate with physicians, therapists and other referral sources Work closely with our technical team and learn hands-on fabrication and modification techniques Participate in continuing education and manufacturer training Provide clinical coverage at other company locations when needed Proven post-residency experience as a Certified Prosthetist with demonstrated proficiency in orthotic and prosthetic fitting and adjustment. Strong knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to prosthetic care. Experience working with pediatric populations (pediatrics) is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with orthopedic devices, physical assessments, and clinical interprofessional collaboration is essential. Prior exposure to patient service roles involving direct patient care, client communication, and physical examinations is highly valued. Commitment to ongoing professional development through CME training to maintain certification standards and expand clinical expertise. Develop Upper-Extremity Expertise Upper-extremity prosthetics will be an important component of this position. Previous upper-limb experience is a major plus but is not required for the right candidate . We are willing to provide mentorship and training to someone motivated to develop expertise in this area. Our goal is to develop this clinician to confidently manage upper-extremity patients from evaluation through fitting, delivery and long-term follow-up. The clinician will primarily support our Niles and Fairlawn locations , with additional patient care, training and hands-on fabrication experience at our North Olmsted and Amherst locations and other company offices as needed. As our Niles and Fairlawn practices continue to grow, this clinician will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and ownership of those patient populations. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between Northern/Northeast Ohio locations are required. Compensation & Benefits $70,000-$85,000/year , depending on certification, experience and clinical capabilities.
