To provide high-quality pre-hospital emergency medical care and advanced life support to patients while ensuring safe transportation, accurate patient documentation, operational readiness of emergency vehicles and equipment, and compliance with established medical protocols. Collaborate with healthcare providers, emergency responders, and community partners to deliver professional, compassionate, and efficient emergency medical services.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, providing Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) care in accordance with established protocols. Assess, treat, stabilize, and safely transport patients while maintaining communication with medical control and receiving healthcare facilities. Complete accurate and timely patient care reports, incident documentation, and required operational records. Conduct daily inspections, inventory, maintenance, and restocking of ambulances, medications, emergency equipment, and medical supplies. Safely operate emergency vehicles in all weather and road conditions while adhering to emergency vehicle laws and safety standards. Coordinate with emergency response agencies and serve as Lead Medic or Incident Commander during mass casualty incidents when assigned. Maintain professional standards through continuing education, compliance with HIPAA and safety regulations, and participation in community health and emergency preparedness activities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School/GED with current National Registry Paramedic Certification and two (2) years of document Emergency Medical Services experience or Registered Nurse Licensed in North Dakota or South Dakota with National Registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification or Critical Care Paramedic Certification or Flight Paramedic Certification.
Possess American Heart Association, CPR, ACLS, PALS, certifications.
Valid driver's license and meet insurability requirements.
SHIFT:
This position requires availability to work a rotating 48-hour shift, including days, nights, and weekends.
TESTING AND BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS
Subject to pre-employment, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing. Tribal, State, and Federal background investigation and MVR screening required.
HIRING PREFERENCES
Qualified applicants who are enrolled members of a federally recognized Tribe will receive Native American preference. Qualified applicants will receive Veteran's Preference with submission of proof of honorable military service (e.g., DD-214).
