With locations in both Hillsboro and Clackamas and some of the largest hospital partnerships in the area, we offer a wide variety of positions for Paramedics who are looking for a change of pace. Paramedics working in our IFT division staff ALS units which run a variety of calls, including hospital to hospital transfers (including stroke, STEMI, trauma, etc.), hospital discharges, critical care transports with our ICU level nurses, organs for transplant, and much more. Requirements of the Paramedic position include: Current Oregon Paramedic License Current BLS, ACLS, PHTLS, and pediatric certifications (accepted pediatric certifications include PALS, PEPP, or EPC) - All certification must be obtained through an in-person or hybrid course that includes a hands-on skills assessment; online-only certifications will not be accepted. Candidates are also required to hold a valid driver's license, be 21 years in age or more, meet Metro West motor vehicle record, criminal background, drug and alcohol screening, and physical requirement standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.

Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of company policies and standing orders to include treatment protocols, operational policies and safety guidelines. 2. Maintain appropriate level and type of EMT certification and all other associated certifications and continuing education requirements. 3. Comply with all state and company requirements for the operation of an emergency motor vehicle. Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal and responsible manner. 4. Responsible for maintaining the ambulance, emergency equipment, and supplies in a constant state of readiness. Responsible for keeping the ambulance neat and clean inside and out. 5. Immediately report any damage or malfunction in the ambulance or equipment, which could compromise the unit's ability to complete an ambulance call. 6. Maintain familiarization with the assigned ambulance district and mapping system to be able to quickly locate addresses. 7. Complete all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner and turn it in to the appropriate supervisor. 8. Supervise and help educate ambulance riders and interns. 9. Responsible for reading company memos and being aware of any and all changes made to company policy or standing orders. 10. Maintain clear and open communication with other personnel as well as supervisors. 11. Maintain a neat and professional appearance in accordance with the company policy manual. 12. Maintain a level of fitness which allows for lifting, moving and pushing patients weighing 180 pounds with the assistance of a partner. 13. Attend all mandatory in-services and training sessions. Complete all mandatory drug testing accordance with company policy. 14. Maintain a cooperative working relationship with allied health and public safety officials. 15. Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements Unimpaired Mobility:

Must be able to respond quickly to ambulance calls, must physically be able to access patients located in difficult terrain and dangerous environments and locations, must be able to climb stairs and other structures, must be able to work in close and dangerous environments, such as without limitation, damaged vehicles, must be able to carry heavy equipment and patients.

Physical Abilities:

Must be able to perform strenuous physical requirements, including without limitation, lifting and moving of heavy equipment and patients in a variety of environmental and dangerous conditions, perform CPR and other lifesaving maneuvers. Ability to carry a fully stocked airway kit and medical kit up and down 18 steps once without stopping. Ability to (with the help of a partner) remove a patient weighing 180 pounds from the floor using a sheet or Mega-Mover and carry the patient 50 feet to an awaiting gurney. Ability to (with the help of a partner) remove a patient weighing 180 pounds from a chair and place the patient on the floor. Ability to perform one person CPR according to American Heart Association standards on a manikin for 5 minutes continuously without interruption. Ability to (with the help of a partner) secure a patient weighing 180 pounds to a backboard and carry the patient on the backboard to an awaiting gurney 50 feet away. Ability to (with the help of a partner) load the gurney into an ambulance and move the patient on the backboard to the bench seat. Ability to (with the help of a partner) carry a patient weighing 180 pounds in a chair around a corner down 2 steps and around a second corner. Ability to use a four-point lift (with the help of partners) to carry a gurney with a patient weighing 180 pounds across uneven ground for 50 feet. Ability to change a tire on an ambulance.

Fine Motor Skills :

Must be able to perform required medical skills and techniques, including without limitation, bandaging, splinting and establishing an IV, performing endotracheal intubation and other advanced airway techniques, manual defibrillation, pleural decompression.

Vision:

Must have correctable vision that permits the safe operation of emergency vehicles, the reading of gauges, fine print and figures associated with emergent medical care and treatment; and color acuity to differentiate varying colors that may be necessary in providing emergency care and treatment.

Hearing:

Must be able to hear sufficiently to obtain information provided by patients, family members, bystanders, medical professionals and other emergency personnel; and adequate hearing necessary to provide emergency care and treatment in active, distracting environments.

Speech:

Must be able to speak and enunciate clearly and at a level audible to others in loud conditions. Must be able to verbally communicate in stressful and distracting environments with patients, family members, medical professionals and other emergency personnel.
