Job Description

This position is for PRN and Full-time This position has locations in Vision Park, Conroe, and Huntsville Essential Job Functions General
  • Promotes and maintains health by administering medications, starting intravenous lines, and providing emergency medical care including advanced life support. Quality

  • Maintains and supports a safe and compliant environment. Complies with all hospital, Federal, Medicare/Medicaid/State standards, policies and rules. IT
  • Maintains all security passwords given to him/her. Maintains storage of all hospital data essential for hospital functioning on the server, not the c drive. Keeps current on the knowledge of the CPSI system and Office Applications as it applies to the job position. HIPAA
  • Keeps staff and patient information within the HIPAA privacy laws.
JOB DUTIES
Communicate to physicians, appropriate members of the staff, patient, and family members regarding patient needs and progress, either by documentation or, if necessary, direct contact. Administer intravenous contrast media and monitor patients during injection. Observe patients for 30 minutes after the contrast procedure. Ensure emergency medical services, including crash cart, are readily available in the event of an adverse contrast reaction. Maintain the well-being and safety of the patient during treatment and provide life support during medical emergencies Monitor equipment to be sure it is safe before using with a patient. Complete all documentation that is required in a timely manner. Educate/train on appropriate tasks which have been delegated to other staff. Observe patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines. Monitor inventory and request orders of needed supplies and equipment in a timely manner to avoid emergency ordering. Instruct patients and/or family members on procedures that should be followed or continued outside the environment of the clinic. Assume personal responsibility for professional development and continuing education. Demonstrate positive interpersonal communication skills while maintaining standards of professional ethics. Perform other duties, as delegated, required, or requested.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENT 8
00 AM to 5 PM Monday
  • Friday.
Overtime might be required.
ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS
Building may at times be hot or cold for personal preference. Sudden alarms may be loud for code announcements.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to walk the building, lift up to 25 lbs, bend over to pick up objects on the floor, and reach overhead. Must have the ability to perform manual dexterity functions including computer work. Must be able to communicate in English and be able to think, read, write, listen and speak in English. Must be able to concentrate on job functions and understand hospital policy and procedures and all other written materials. Must be able to work in stressful environment with frequent deadlines and use critical thinking skills for important decisions. Must be able to distinguish colors and pass a color blindness test.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of an approved EMT or paramedic education course and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians EMT or Paramedic exam. Current certification to practice as Emergency Medical Technician
  • Paramedic verified by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Must be competent to treat adults and adolescents. Must be CPR certified (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) Computer skills
  • Microsoft Word preferred

Up to $30.00 per hour
