A Patient Safety Monitor assists nursing employees with monitoring assigned patients under the direction and guidance of a staff nurse to provide observation of patients as a "sitter" only. The Patient Safety Monitor provides constant observation to patients who may be in danger of harming themselves or acting in an unsafe manner. The patient sitter provides a safe environment for the patient requiring one to one observation. Is accountable for own action in performing sitter duties as trained. There are no clinical skills associated with this position. Must be able to focus attention on patient and patient's activity and remain alert for an extended period of time. Patient Transporter will transport patients to and from their inpatient beds and other areas. Other responsibilities include retrieving medical records, lab results, supplies and medications. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision of Radiology Director. Timely transport of patients to various locations within the hospital. Monitoring transport requests and completing them promptly. Complying with health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Assists with patient handling and lifting using appropriate patient safety equipment and appropriate safety procedures. Transports patients safely and efficiently between various departments following appropriate transfer techniques and proper isolation/infection control procedures. Validates patients' identity based on established department protocol. Remains alert to patient condition and promptly communicates changes to clinical staff. Maintaining accurate daily logs. Other duties as assigned. High school diploma or equivalent. No experience necessary, but healthcare experience preferred. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Current BLS certification required. CPI training required within 6-months of hire - or similar training. CNA Preferred. •Pay range: $16 - $18 (depending on experience)•High School or better. C-CPI Crisis Prevention
