Pay Range:

As a Patient Sitter in our Emergency Department, you'll play a direct role in helping patients feel safe, supported, and cared for, simply by being present, attentive, and compassionate when they need it most. What You'll Do As a Patient Sitter, you'll provide continuous observation and support for assigned patients while helping promote a safe environment for everyone. In this role, you will: Stay with and continuously observe assigned patients. Help keep patients safe by calmly redirecting behaviors that could place them at risk. Alert nursing staff immediately when a patient needs assistance or when a condition changes. Provide reassurance, comfort, and clear explanations to patients as appropriate. Partner closely with nurses and the care team to support patient safety plans. Monitor the patient environment and report any potential safety concerns. Participate in shift-change handoffs to ensure seamless patient care. Maintain a respectful, compassionate presence with patients, families, and visitors. Communicate observations clearly and promptly to the healthcare team. What You'll Bring Required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by either American Heart Association or American Red Cross Ability to remain attentive, alert, and engaged throughout your shift Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to respond calmly and appropriately in changing situations Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent One year of patient care, caregiving, healthcare, behavioral health, or related experience Nice to Have Healthcare experience is helpful, but we know great caregivers come from many different backgrounds.
