is a new rhythm-based cardio fitness concept being built in Washington, D.C. Our classes combine music-driven movement, step-based cardio, light strength work, and high-energy coaching to make cardio feel fun, social, challenging, and something people actually look forward to. We're looking for a Founding Coach to help build the experience from the ground up. This is for someone who gets excited by joining something early.
FOOTWORK
is still developing, which means you'll be figuring things out alongside the founder: testing movements, refining sequences, shaping class structure, improving cues, and helping define what a great
FOOTWORK
class should feel like. What You'll Do Help develop and refine FOOTWORK's core 50-minute class format Build and test movements, sequences, modifications, and progressions Create clear, concise coaching cues that help people stay on beat and move confidently Lead prototype, pop-up, creator preview, and early public classes Help shape programming, music, pacing, and overall class energy Give feedback on what is and isn't working and continuously improve the experience Create an environment that feels welcoming, exciting, encouraging, and high-energy Who We're Looking For Personality matters a lot here. We want someone who is energetic, warm, confident, fun, encouraging, and able to command a room without making people feel intimidated.
You should also:
Have experience coaching or teaching group fitness, dance cardio, step, cycling, HIIT, choreography, or another music-driven format Have strong rhythm and musicality Be great at breaking movement down simply and teaching it quickly Be comfortable demonstrating movement while coaching a room Know how to challenge experienced clients while making beginners feel successful Be creative, collaborative, flexible, and genuinely excited about building something that is not fully figured out yet Be comfortable appearing in

photo and video content Group fitness and CPR/AED certifications are strongly preferred but not required. As

grows, this role could grow with it. For the right person, there may be opportunities to take on additional leadership across areas like programming, coach training, class development, or other parts of the fitness experience. We don't have everything figured out yet. That's the point. If helping create something new from the very beginning sounds exciting to you, we'd love to hear from you.
Pay:
From $25.00 per hour
