Personal Trainer - Small Group Ativo Fitness Middleton, MA Job Details Full-time Up to $40 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Professional development assistance Opportunities for advancement Flexible schedule Qualifications Certified Personal Trainer Customer communication Strength training instruction Operations management Sports coaching experience Personal training Experience working with high schoolers Training Strength training programs Full Job Description Ativo Fitness is a small group personal training gym in Middleton, MA. We serve adults and youth athletes from Andover, North Andover, North Reading, Topsfield, and Boxford. We're hiring a part-time coach to join our floor and grow into a bigger role over time. This isn't a "come in, run a workout, go home" gig. Every member has a program. Every coach knows every member by name, by history, and by what they're working toward. If that sounds like more than you signed up for at other gyms, that's the point. The role You'll coach small group sessions and pick up support hours (some remote) that keep the gym running well outside of coaching time. This is a real entry point, not a placeholder. The coach who fills this role is a candidate for our Head Coach position down the line, which we're also currently hiring for. What you'll do Coach 10-12 small group sessions per week. Know your members' names, histories, and goals from early on. Pick up support hours covering facility upkeep, day-to-day admin, and other pieces of running the gym. That list grows as you do and as we learn where you're strongest. Schedule Multiple 5am starts per week. 1-2 evening sessions. At least 2 Saturdays per month. This is a real early-morning gym, and that's not going to change as the role grows. What we're looking for CFSC strongly preferred. CSCS, NSCA-CPT, or
NASM-CPT
are a plus. 3+ years of hands-on coaching experience with real people through real problems. You understand how to progress a member over months and years, not just design a tough workout. You communicate clearly with members, ownership, and the team. Experience with youth athletic training is a plus. Compensation Up to $40 per small group session, up to $60 for 1:1 personal training sessions, plus $25/hour for support work. Growth path This role is built to grow into our Head Coach position. As you take on more sessions, more responsibility, and more trust on the floor, your hours and pay grow with you. Ask us about it directly if you want the long version. How to apply Submit your application here on Indeed so we have your resume on file. Email with the subject line "Why Ativo - Part-Time" and a few sentences about why our gym speaks to you. Applications are only reviewed once step 2 is complete.
