Personal Trainer — Build a Career, Not Just a Schedule East Northport, NY | Full-Time / Part-Time Are you a personal trainer who wants more than just a place to pick up a few hours? Do you want to become a better coach, build a loyal client base, learn how to create a career in fitness, and work alongside someone who genuinely wants to see you succeed? If so, you may be exactly who we're looking for. Forever Fit Method is a private training facility in East Northport, NY focused on helping adults 45+ get stronger, move better, and stay active for life. We're looking for a Personal Trainer to work with both one-on-one and small-group clients. This isn't a "show up, train people, and go home" position. I'm looking for someone who is reliable, coachable, empathetic, communicative, and hungry to improve. Someone who takes the profession seriously and wants to make personal training a legitimate career. What Makes This Opportunity Different? I'm a personal trainer who became a gym owner. I've built my own career in this industry, and now one of the things I enjoy most is helping other trainers do the same. Every trainer I've worked with who has established a financial or career goal has reached it—and in many cases, we've reached it faster than originally planned. My goal is to help you become a better trainer and learn how to build a career that can support the life you want. That means helping you with things like: Becoming a better coach and communicator Building relationships that turn clients into long-term members Setting and reaching financial and career goals Managing your schedule and creating a sustainable workload Learning the business side of personal training Developing habits around saving, investing, and long-term financial planning Exploring bigger-picture goals like home ownership and real estate investing You don't have to know all of this coming in. That's the point of the mentorship. Who We're Looking For You don't need 10 years of experience. We're excited to work with someone relatively early in their career if you have the right mindset. We're looking for someone who: Is dependable and shows up when they say they will Is hungry to learn and improve Takes coaching well and actively seeks feedback Communicates well with clients and coworkers Has genuine empathy for people Can connect with adults 45+ and make them feel comfortable Understands that training is about the person, not just the exercise Wants to build relationships and retain clients long-term Is professional, positive, and emotionally intelligent Wants personal training to become a career—not just a side job A background in psychology, counseling, education, behavior change, or a related field is a plus , but not required. What matters more is that you understand people. Our clients aren't looking for someone to yell at them and count their reps. They're looking for a coach who listens, understands where they're coming from, makes them feel comfortable, and helps them become stronger and more confident. What You'll Be Doing One-on-one personal training Semi-private/small-group training Coaching adults 45+ Building strong relationships with clients Helping clients achieve strength, mobility, and fitness goals Learning and implementing our training systems Communicating with clients about scheduling, progress, and goals Contributing to a positive, collaborative gym culture Compensation We believe trainers should have a clear path to increase their earning potential as they become more valuable.
Current starting opportunities include:
$32/hour — Group Training $30/hour — One-on-One Training Up to $80/hour — Semi-Private Training You won't necessarily be starting from zero. We currently have clients and training hours available , so the right candidate can step into an existing schedule while continuing to build from there. There is significant opportunity to grow your hours, client base, responsibilities, and income over time. What It's Like to Work Here We're a small, positive, collaborative team. I'm not a "my way or the highway" gym owner. I want my trainers to have a voice, ask questions, challenge ideas, and continue developing their own coaching style. My job as the owner isn't just to tell you what to do. It's to help you become really good at what you do. If you want someone who will invest in your development, teach you the business side of the industry, and help you create a long-term career path, you'll have that here. If you're simply looking for a few hours to fill your schedule while pursuing something else, this probably isn't the right opportunity. Experience & Certifications Personal training certification preferred Previous personal training/coaching experience preferred, but not required Relevant degree or educational background is a plus CPR/AED certification required or obtainable upon hiring Interested? If you're looking at personal training as something you could genuinely build your life around, I'd love to meet you. Send us your resume and a brief explanation of why you want to be a personal trainer and what you want your career to look like over the next 3-5 years. That answer will tell us much more about you than a resume ever could.
