POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for Personal and Group Training, managing the Healthy Living Journey experience and assisting in new program development. Assists with development, organization, implementation and evaluation of health and wellness programs, ensuring that all operations in the Healthy Living department run smoothly. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintains a minimum of 5 wellness floor hours weekly. Assists with all operations of the Healthy Living Department and its programs including facility and staff management, daily operations, small group training scheduling, incentive programs, collaborations with other agencies, health education and screenings. Manages and executes the delivery of the member experience. Assist in developing, administering, achieving and evaluating the annual Healthy Living Department Operating Objectives. Monitors the achievement of these objectives through measurable outcomes, taking appropriate action to see they are met. Assures that the Healthy Living Programs have well-planned member and retention plans. Evaluates current programs and SGT Engagement Strategies to expand or discontinue classes based on participation and customer satisfaction. Assists in the maintenance of a clean and safe facility. Maintains an accurate system of records and reports. Serves as member of the Healthy Living Cabinet providing input for the administration, promotion and operation of the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh. Provides a cohesive approach to customer service and training that directly impacts the end user's commitment and personal growth. Builds a culture of service delivery that is reflective of the Y mission and responsive to member issues and needs. Supports branch fundraising initiatives by actively contributing to, educating on, fundraising projected goal for the Annual Campaign. Assists in forming community partnerships to expand Y Without Walls concept. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum of 18 years of age. The incumbent is required to maintain a nationally recognized Personal Trainer certification. Associate's Degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Sports Management, Kinesiology, Health or related field preferred. Certification in area of expertise as required. 2 years of experience preferred. Sales experience preferred. CPR, AED and First Aid or ability to obtain within 30 days required. Must complete New Employee Orientation, Orientation to Healthy Living and Wellness Center at the Y (LCDC) within 3 months of hire.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Current driver's license and access to reliable vehicle for transportation. Occasional travel, both local and national, may be required.
