Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract A leading pediatric medical center in Arkansas is seeking two night shift pharmacists to join their clinical pharmacy team on a 13-week contract with potential to convert to permanent. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with Arkansas pharmacy licensure or those in the process of obtaining a temporary license, as the Department of Pharmacy is open to accommodating licensing timelines.
Location:
Sherwood, AR Schedule:
12-hour night shifts, 7 days on/7 days off (Thursday-Wednesday, 7 PM-7 AM); scheduling flexibility available
Contract Length:
13 weeks, with temp-to-hire possibility
Key Responsibilities:
Compound and dispense medications following physician orders, ensuring accuracy and patient safety Consult with medical staff regarding drug interactions, patient histories, and medication use Monitor and verify medication appropriateness based on pediatric dosing parameters, including weight and age Identify and resolve drug therapy problems such as allergies, interactions, and adverse reactions Recommend cost-effective and clinically appropriate therapies, including non-formulary drug evaluations Maintain compliance with all regulatory and hospital policies regarding pharmacy data and security Participate in patient care rounds, educating patients, staff, and pharmacy students Manage inventory processes, including ordering, recalls, and loan/borrow coordination
Qualifications:
Arkansas pharmacist license required; temporary licenses available for eligible candidates Minimum 2 years of inpatient clinical pharmacy experience preferred IV therapy experience or IV certification preferred Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) designation is a plus This role offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment within a nationally recognized pediatric teaching hospital.
