  • Santa Ana, CA Part-Time | Monday-Friday | No Weekends About Brightside Rx Brightside Rx is a growing specialty pharmacy located in Santa Ana, California.
We are seeking a motivated, organized, and personable California-licensed Pharmacist to join our team. This is a hands-on position ideal for a pharmacist who enjoys both clinical pharmacy responsibilities and direct patient interaction . The pharmacist will participate throughout the pharmacy workflow, including receiving and verifying prescriptions, prescription processing, dispensing, patient consultation, patient intake, provider communication, and administrative support. We are a small, growing team, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats, learning new systems, helping wherever needed, and contributing to the continued growth of the pharmacy. Pharmacist Responsibilities The pharmacist will be responsible for pharmacist functions including: Receive, obtain, call for, clarify, and verify new prescription orders with authorized prescribers and provider offices as appropriate. Review prescriptions for completeness, accuracy, appropriateness, allergies, interactions, contraindications, dosing concerns, and other clinical issues. Enter/type prescription orders into Digital Rx . Process prescriptions through Digital Rx and maintain accurate patient profiles. Perform pharmacist verification of prescription orders. Perform final product verification before prescriptions are dispensed. Fill and prepare prescriptions as needed as part of the pharmacy workflow. Provide pharmacist consultation and counseling to patients. Respond to patient medication questions and clinical concerns within the pharmacist's scope. Communicate with prescribers and medical offices regarding prescription clarifications, refill requests, medication issues, and new orders. Appropriately document prescription clarifications and other pharmacist interventions. Assist with prescription refills and ongoing patient medication needs. Maintain accurate and complete pharmacy records in accordance with applicable pharmacy requirements and company procedures. Patient Intake & Customer Service This position will also participate directly in patient intake and pharmacy coordination.
Responsibilities include:
Contact patients after new referrals and prescription orders are received. Conduct telephone patient intake. Verify patient name, date of birth, telephone number, and delivery address. Collect and document allergies, medical history/health conditions, and current medications. Clearly explain the pharmacy process to patients. Answer incoming patient calls and assist with questions. Provide professional, friendly, and compassionate customer service. Follow up with patients who are difficult to reach. Leave appropriate voicemail and text communications when necessary. Coordinate medication delivery with patients. Confirm patient information before prescriptions are shipped. Assist patients with refill requests and refill confirmations. Escalate and resolve patient concerns appropriately. Because patients may initially be unfamiliar with Brightside Rx, the pharmacist should be comfortable establishing trust over the telephone and communicating in a warm, patient, and professional manner . Prescription & Pharmacy Operations The pharmacist will assist throughout daily pharmacy operations, including: Entering and processing prescriptions. Preparing and filling prescriptions. Prescription and product verification. Maintaining accurate patient profiles. Managing refill requests. Monitoring prescriptions requiring additional information or provider clarification. Coordinating with pharmacy staff to keep orders moving efficiently. Assisting with medication inventory and identifying medications requiring reorder. Monitoring pending prescriptions and helping resolve workflow delays. Preparing medications for pickup or shipment. Creating or assisting with shipping labels and tracking. Following medication deliveries when necessary. Maintaining an organized and accurate pharmacy workflow. Referral & Administrative Responsibilities Because Brightside Rx works closely with medical offices and law firms, the pharmacist may also assist with: Receiving and acknowledging new patient referrals. Reviewing referral information for completeness. Communicating with medical provider offices regarding missing prescriptions or patient information. Following up on outstanding prescription orders. Entering and updating patient information in Monday.com and pharmacy systems. Using Outlook for professional email communication. Maintaining accurate electronic documentation. Working between multiple programs throughout the day. Assisting the Intake and Case Management teams when additional support is needed. Helping resolve workflow issues rather than allowing incomplete tasks to remain pending. Required Qualifications Active California Pharmacist (RPh) license in good standing Graduate of an accredited pharmacy program Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong patient/customer-service skills Comfortable communicating with patients and medical provider offices by telephone Strong attention to detail and accuracy Strong computer and data-entry skills Ability to learn and navigate multiple software programs simultaneously Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Dependable, organized, and able to follow through on assigned responsibilities Willingness to perform both pharmacist-level responsibilities and routine pharmacy/intake duties as needed Comfortable working as part of a small team where everyone contributes to the overall workflow Preferred Qualifications Spanish-speaking/bilingual preferred Previous community, retail, specialty, mail-order, or independent pharmacy experience preferred Experience with Digital Rx strongly preferred Experience with Monday.com or similar workflow/project-management software is a plus Strong Microsoft Outlook and general computer skills Typing speed of approximately 60 WPM or greater preferred Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new software Experience conducting patient intake or obtaining medication histories preferred Experience communicating directly with physician/provider offices preferred What We're Looking For The right candidate is not someone who wants to sit exclusively at a verification station. We are looking for a pharmacist who is willing to be actively involved in the entire pharmacy operation .

Takes initiative without constantly waiting to be assigned the next task. Is comfortable speaking with patients throughout the day. Communicates warmly and professionally. Can move efficiently between telephone calls, prescription processing, Digital Rx, email, and other systems. Notices problems and works toward resolving them. Is willing to assist coworkers when the pharmacy is busy. Understands that accuracy and patient safety remain the priority even in a fast-moving environment. Wants to grow with a developing pharmacy and take on additional responsibility over time. Schedule Part-time Monday-Friday 9:00 AM-6:00 PM No weekends In-office position
