Job Description

Norman Regional Health System seeks an overnight ER Pharmacist to provide clinical and distributive pharmacy services in a fast-paced emergency setting. You will verify and optimize medication orders, prepare and oversee sterile and non-sterile compounds, respond to code and trauma situations, and provide real-time drug information to physicians and nurses. Working within a collaborative, patient-centered culture, you'll support safe, evidence-based therapy, assist with antimicrobial stewardship, train staff, and contribute to quality initiatives that improve outcomes for the Norman community. Responsibilities Provide clinical and distributive pharmacy services to ER patients on the overnight shift Verify and optimize medication orders for safety, efficacy, and dosing accuracy Prepare and oversee sterile and non-sterile compounded medications Respond to code, trauma, and other urgent clinical situations with real-time pharmacotherapy support Deliver drug information and dosing recommendations to physicians and nurses Support antimicrobial stewardship and other medication-related quality initiatives Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards Use EHR and automated dispensing cabinets to manage medication workflows Participate in training and mentoring of pharmacy staff and learners Contribute to a patient-centered, collaborative team culture focused on community health Required Skills Clinical pharmacy Emergency medicine pharmacotherapy Medication order verification Sterile IV compounding Use of EHR systems Automated dispensing cabinets (e.g., Pyxis, Omnicell) Drug information & dosing consults Antimicrobial stewardship basics Regulatory compliance (Joint Commission, USP) Patient counseling
