Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A premier healthcare facility is seeking an experienced pharmacist to support their inpatient hospital pharmacy operations. This contract opportunity spans 13 weeks, beginning in late September, at a busy Level I Trauma Center with a renowned children's hospital and a 1500-bed capacity. The role offers a mix of day and evening shifts, including rotating weekends, providing dynamic scheduling for flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver clinical pharmacy services in inpatient settings, particularly pediatric and women's health units. Support operational pharmacy functions including medication dispensing, sterile processing, or pharmacological oversight as pharmacist in charge. Utilize clinical software such as EPIC and Pyxis to manage medication therapy and inventory systems. Participate in training and orientation sessions prior to shift start.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of three years of professional pharmacy experience. PGY1 residency training preferred; alternatively, 2-3 years of relevant experience. Proven experience in inpatient pharmacy; familiarity with pediatric or women's health pharmacy strongly preferred. Must hold or be eligible to obtain a Connecticut pharmacist license; temporary licenses are available within 7-10 business days. Proficiency with EPIC and Pyxis platforms is required.
Work Schedule:
5x8-hour shifts per week, with a rotating weekend schedule. Mix of day and evening shifts. This contract offers a comprehensive orientation period with added non-billable hours to ensure seamless integration into the team.
