Key Responsibilities:
Interpret, verify, and process physician medication orders accurately. Perform and oversee sterile compounding in strict compliance with USP and USP standards. Conduct final verification of compounded sterile preparations to ensure patient safety. Review medication profiles focusing on safety, allergies, drug interactions, dosing, and compatibility. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care. Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff to maintain high-quality operations. Maintain cleanroom standards, aseptic techniques, and environmental monitoring to meet regulatory requirements. Participate in quality assurance initiatives, medication safety programs, audits, and processes for continuous improvement. Maintain detailed compounding, batch, quality, and regulatory documentation. Assist with inventory management, including controlled substances, and daily pharmacy operational tasks. Support the development of pharmacy policies, procedures, and staff training programs. Engage in staff meetings and professional conferences to stay current in the field.
Qualifications:
Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing. Minimum of 1 year experience in hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounding adhering to
USP , USP
, DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations. Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities. Detail-oriented with a commitment to patient safety and compliance.
