Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract To Hire A licensed pharmacist with expertise in Medication Therapy Management is needed for a 13-week contract-to-hire position. Candidates must hold a current Louisiana pharmacist license along with a minimum of five additional active licenses from the specified states below. This opportunity offers flexibility to work onsite or remotely, supporting pharmacy operations that ensure safe, effective medication use.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and dispense medications accurately per physician orders following established protocols. Interpret both verbal and written prescriptions and update computerized patient medication profiles. Maintain complete, precise pharmacy patient medication records. Dispense pharmaceuticals safely and manage controlled substances according to legal standards. Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and dosage appropriateness. Detect and report adverse drug reactions promptly and accurately. Provide clinical consultation to healthcare practitioners, recommending cost-effective therapeutic alternatives when appropriate. Document all clinical interventions comprehensively. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including medication use reviews and documentation. Supervise and verify pharmacy support personnel activities, contributing to their performance evaluations. Organize and prioritize workload to ensure timely pharmacy services with minimal supervision. Conduct medication storage inspections, ensuring removal of outdated or unusable drugs. Handle professional communication via telephone and pharmacy window requests.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Current Louisiana pharmacist license is mandatory. Active pharmacist licenses in at least five of the following states: DC, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming. Prior retail or hospital pharmacy experience. Commitment to acquiring up to 10 additional state licenses within 18 months is required.
