Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract Anoka, MN area seeks a dedicated Pharmacist for an 8-week contract assignment in the Fridley/Minneapolis region. This role requires flexibility in shift times and weekend rotations, providing a dynamic and engaging work environment.

Schedule:

Flexible shifts: 9:30 AM-6:00 PM, 10:00 AM-6:30 PM, or 11:00 AM-8:30

PM Rotating Saturdays and Sundays Key Responsibilities:

Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications while ensuring compliance with legal regulations and patient safety. Monitor patient medication adherence and detect potential over-usage issues. Maintain confidential and precise patient records and pharmacy files. Provide expert advice to patients regarding medication use, potential side effects, and answer related queries. Conduct consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions. Offer additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on the proper handling of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following strict protocols. Supervise pharmacy team members including technicians and clerks to ensure efficient pharmacy operations. Maintain pharmaceutical and medical inventory at appropriate levels. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacy interns, and other healthcare professionals to address drug-related issues.

Qualifications:

Current and valid Minnesota Pharmacist license. Open to retail pharmacists with or without extensive experience; training provided as needed. Ability to work varied shifts and weekend rotations. Strong communication and organizational skills. This contract opportunity offers hands-on experience in a supportive environment with opportunities to expand clinical skills.
