Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A long-term care pharmacy in Winterville, NC, is seeking a dedicated pharmacist for a 13-week contract with the opportunity to transition to a permanent role based on performance. This role involves both PV1 and PV2 duties, supporting patient care and medication management in a dynamic healthcare setting.
Schedule/Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Rotating Saturdays Key Responsibilities:
Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently. Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns. Ensure all medication supplies comply with legal regulations. Verify that prescribed medicines are appropriate for patients. Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files. Provide patient consultations regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions. Offer additional services such as smoking cessation counseling, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on the use of medical devices such as glucose monitors and blood pressure cuffs. Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols. Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks. Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacy interns, and other healthcare professionals to address drug-related issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
Must hold an active North Carolina pharmacist license. Experience in retail pharmacy is welcomed; training will be provided as needed. Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.
