In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily pharmacy functions, ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, and deliver exceptional patient care. Your leadership will drive a team dedicated to providing safe, effective medication management and outstanding customer service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient health outcomes while fostering a collaborative and compliant pharmacy environment. Responsibilities Lead and manage the pharmacy team, including pharmacists and technicians, ensuring smooth daily operations and high-quality patient service Oversee medication dispensing processes, including compounding medications and preparing IV infusions with aseptic techniques in accordance with USP 797 standards Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws, regulations, and policies, including drug regulation and healthcare compliance standards Conduct patient assessments to optimize medication therapy plans, including pediatrics, pain management, and acute care cases Maintain accurate inventory management of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies while adhering to pharmaceutical regulatory compliance guidelines Supervise the use of Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), Electronic Health Records (EHR), and other EMR systems to ensure accurate documentation and data security Promote a culture of clinical confidentiality policies such as HIPAA, ensuring patient privacy is always protected during medication administration and client communication Requirements Valid pharmacist license in good standing with current state and federal pharmacy laws knowledge Extensive pharmacy experience including community pharmacy, LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy, hospital or acute care settings Critical care experience preferred, with strong skills in patient service, assessment, and medical management Demonstrated expertise in managing pharmacy teams, inventory control, and pharmacy operations Proficiency in pharmacy software systems such as
PIS, EMR/EHR
platforms; familiarity with USP 797 guidelines for sterile compounding Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), immunizations administration, and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance are highly desirable Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology terminology, drug regulation policies, and healthcare compliance standards Excellent client communication skills coupled with a passion for delivering outstanding patient care in a fast-paced environment Join us as our Pharmacist in Charge to lead with energy, uphold the highest standards of safety and compliance, and provide exceptional healthcare services that truly make a difference!
