Description:
Serves as the licensed pharmacist responsible for pharmacy practice, regulatory compliance, medication safety, quality, records, and professional oversight for the assigned pharmacy while partnering with operational leaders to maintain safe, effective, and compliant pharmacy services. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities Fulfill all pharmacist-in-charge responsibilities required by applicable law, regulation, licensure, and company policy. Oversee pharmacy practice standards, medication safety, controlled-substance accountability, required records, and regulatory readiness. Lead or support inspections, audits, quality events, corrective actions, policy implementation, and professional-practice issues. Provide professional leadership, guidance, feedback, and training to pharmacists, technicians, and other pharmacy personnel. Partner with facility operations leaders on staffing, workflow, performance, service, inventory, and risk management. Monitor pharmacy compliance, service, quality, and operational performance and address material gaps. Maintain accurate pharmacy records and ensure required policies and procedures remain current and consistently followed.
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent accredited professional pharmacy degree. Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in the applicable jurisdiction and eligibility to serve as Pharmacist in Charge. Progressive pharmacist experience with strong knowledge of pharmacy law, controlled substances, quality, and regulatory requirements. Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, communication, delegation, and problem-solving capability. Ability to manage inspections, audits, compliance issues, and professional-practice risk. Preferred Qualifications 3-5+ years of pharmacist experience. Prior PIC, pharmacy manager, long-term care, institutional, infusion, or closed-door pharmacy experience. Advanced clinical, sterile-compounding, quality, regulatory, or controlled-substance expertise relevant to the facility.
