Position Summary:
Compounds and dispenses medication pursuant to physician orders; monitors drug therapy for appropriateness of drug, dose, route and duration of therapy; and screens for drug interactions, compatibilities and contraindications. Provides drug information to physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and patients. Qualifications Per licensure requirements. For third shift, one year experience in hospital pharmacy is required. For all other shifts, previous hospital experience is highly desirable. Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergency requests, communicate effectively, and work independently. Must be able to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
