The position requires managing the medication process to promote pharmaceutical care, ensuring accurate dose appropriateness, order entry, and medication dispensing with a focus on patient safety for ages ranging from newborns to adults. The opportunity involves a 13-week contract with a 7-on/7-off schedule, working from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM, utilizing EPIC for electronic medical records.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and verify medication doses according to patient diagnosis, weight, allergies, and drug interactions to avoid medication incidents. Accurately enter medication orders into the computer system with attention to detail. Ensure correct dispensing of medications and timely delivery within established protocols. Maintain strict aseptic technique and infection control in sterile product preparation. Encourage aseptic and infection control practices among pharmacy staff. Complete annual certifications related to aseptic technique and infection control with at least 90% accuracy.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2+ years recent inpatient pharmacy experience; pediatric experience preferred but not mandatory. Hold a valid Texas pharmacist license. ACPE IV Certification is required. Commitment to maintaining high standards in patient safety and quality care.
