Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract This position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient care by managing medication processes and promoting pharmaceutical care in a dynamic inpatient hospital setting. You will work with patients of all ages, ranging from pediatric to adult populations, ensuring medication safety and efficacy through thorough review and precise order entry using EPIC electronic medical records.
Responsibilities include:
Managing and overseeing medication orders to ensure appropriateness based on patients' diagnoses, weight or body surface area, allergies, and potential drug interactions, with a focus on preventing medication errors. Accurately entering medication orders into the computer system and verifying dispensing accuracy. Ensuring timely processing and delivery of medication doses in compliance with hospital guidelines. Adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control practices during the preparation of sterile products, and encouraging these standards among pharmacy staff. Maintaining certification with annual re-examination on aseptic/infection control techniques.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years recent inpatient pharmacy experience is required, with a preference for pediatric experience (pediatric experience not mandatory). Must hold an active Texas pharmacist license. ACPE IV Certification is required. Proficiency with
EPIC EMR
system preferred.
Shift and Location:
Scheduled to work three 12-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM), including rotating weekends. Location is in the Tomball, TX area. Contract duration is 13 weeks, starting on September 21.
