Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacist to support a 9-week contract assignment in Cheney, WA, beginning August 3. This role offers a mix of day and evening shifts Monday through Friday, with possible weekend rotations. This position welcomes travel pharmacists and provides hands-on experience in both PV1 and PV2 pharmacy duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal requirements. Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of overuse. Ensure prescribed medications are appropriate and safely administered. Maintain accurate, confidential patient and pharmacy records. Provide detailed counseling to patients on medication use, potential side effects, and answer questions. Offer consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage, storage, and drug interactions. Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors. Compound medications for internal or external use and prepare sterile solutions in accordance with protocols. Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks. Manage inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies efficiently. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacy interns, and other healthcare providers to address drug-related issues.
Qualifications:
Current Washington State pharmacist license required. Retail pharmacy experience is appreciated; training will be provided for retail pharmacists new to clinical settings. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
