Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type All Job Types An immediate opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacist to support retail pharmacy operations in a dynamic medical center setting. This role involves the procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of medications, ensuring compliance with all state and federal pharmaceutical regulations. The position offers an eight-week commitment with standard Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts, starting ASAP.

Key Responsibilities:
Compound and dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently Review prescriptions for accuracy and ensure proper formulation Supervise pharmacy personnel engaged in pharmaceutical preparation and dispensing Provide patient counseling regarding medication use, side effects, storage, and drug interactions when counseling is accepted Maintain compliance with quality assurance, controlled substance security, and hazardous waste disposal procedures Manage pharmacy records, data entry, and third-party insurance rejections Instruct interns and staff, maintaining proper pharmacist-to-technician ratios as mandated Collaborate with healthcare providers to support patient care and pharmacy service programs Pursue ongoing professional development to stay current with new pharmaceutical laws, regulations, and trends Handle customer inquiries and challenging situations with professionalism and confidentiality Support loss prevention controls and contribute to maintaining financial efficiency of the retail pharmacy
Desired Qualifications:
Licensed Pharmacist in the state of California Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.
D. from an accredited college of pharmacy Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Knowledge of federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations and ability to maintain continuing education requirements Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and work independently when needed Proficiency with Microsoft Office and record-keeping systems This position is essential to ensuring safe, compliant, and customer-focused pharmacy services within a healthcare environment.
