In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily pharmacy activities, ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, and foster a patient-centered environment. Your leadership will drive excellence in medication management, team coordination, and customer service, ultimately enhancing patient care outcomes. Duties Manage and supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, to ensure smooth daily operations and high-quality patient service Oversee medication dispensing processes, including compounding medications using aseptic techniques and ensuring accurate medication administration Maintain strict adherence to all federal and state pharmacy laws, drug regulation policies, and healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA and USP 797 guidelines Conduct patient assessments to support clinical pharmacy services, including immunizations, pain management, and medication therapy reviews Ensure inventory management accuracy by monitoring stock levels, managing pharmaceutical supplies, and coordinating with vendors for timely replenishment Implement and utilize pharmacy software systems (Pharmacy Information Systems and Electronic Health Records) for efficient prescription processing and documentation Promote a culture of safety by enforcing pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, clinical confidentiality policies, and practicing proper aseptic techniques in sterile compounding environments Lead initiatives in patient care programs such as immunizations, medication reconciliation, and health education to improve overall patient outcomes Monitor pharmacy operations to optimize workflow efficiency while maintaining a focus on patient service excellence Qualifications Proven experience in clinical pharmacy practice with a strong background in acute care or hospital settings; LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy experience is highly desirable Completion of a pharmacy residency program or equivalent advanced training in pharmaceutical sciences or clinical practice Demonstrated expertise in managing pharmacy teams within community or hospital environments, including supervising pharmacy technicians and supporting staff Critical care experience with skills in patient assessment, medication management, IV infusion procedures, and aseptic technique Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology principles, and medical terminology to support comprehensive patient care Proficiency with pharmacy software systems (PIS), EMR (Electronic Medical Records), EHR (Electronic Health Records), and inventory management tools Strong understanding of drug regulation laws at both state and federal levels; familiarity with USP 797 standards for sterile compounding Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications such as immunizations or pain management are advantageous Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment Join us as a Pharmacy Manager where your expertise will directly impact patient health outcomes while leading a dedicated team committed to excellence.
