Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire This direct hire opportunity offers a leadership role overseeing the pharmacy operations at a well-established acute care hospital located in the South Side of Chicago. The hospital has a rich history of community service since 1912, providing a meaningful environment for pharmacy leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial management of the inpatient pharmacy department. Collaborate closely with hospital administration and clinical leadership teams to ensure optimal pharmacy services. Manage pharmacy operations during extended hours, supporting a team of approximately 20 employees, including full-time, part-time, and PRN staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active Illinois Pharmacist License in good standing (mandatory). Minimum of three years' experience as Director of Pharmacy in an acute care inpatient hospital setting. At least three years' experience in acute care inpatient hospital pharmacy. PharmD degree strongly preferred. Board Certification and completion of hospital pharmacy residency are advantages. Proven ability to manage diverse pharmacy teams. Familiarity with Joint Commission and CMS compliance standards. Experience in community or safety net hospital environments is a plus.
