Manager - Clinical Pharmacy Services

Job Description

The System Manager of Clinical Pharmacy Services is responsible for leading, coordinating, and advancing clinical Pharmacy practice across Merrimack Health to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based medication use. This role provides strategic oversight of clinical Pharmacy programs, standardizes practices across facilities, supports interdisciplinary collaboration, and drives quality, safety, and outcomes improvement initiatives. The System Manager ensures alignment with regulatory requirements, organizational goals, and best practices while promoting innovation, professional development, and optimal patient-centered care. Strategic Leadership & Program Management Provide system-wide leadership for clinical Pharmacy services across all facilities and care settings. Develop, implement, and standardize clinical Pharmacy protocols, policies, and procedures. Standardize inpatient clinical Pharmacy practice models, including decentralized Pharmacy services and medical team rounding. Align clinical Pharmacy initiatives with organizational goals, quality priorities, and regulatory requirements. Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of new clinical Pharmacy programs and services. Collaborate with executive leadership, medical staff, nursing, and other stakeholders to optimize medication-use processes.
EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE
Required:
Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college or university PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Pharmacist licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Minimum of 5 years Clinical Pharmacy experience in a hospital Minimum of 3 years Hospital Pharmacy management experience
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills Expertise in medication therapy management and clinical Pharmacy services Knowledge of regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and Pharmacy laws Ability to lead and manage complex, multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced hospital environment Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to manage complex Pharmacy operations Proficient in the use of Pharmacy software, electronic health records (EHR) preferably Meditech, and other healthcare technology
